About this event

Queen's Hospital Burton is hosting an online session run by the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS). Joining this session will:

  • Leave you feeling more empowered and confident about managing your axial SpA (AS), with a route to taking control of your condition
  • Enable you to meet other people with the same condition and talk together about what helps you
  • Signpost to more resources, including your local NASS Branch, to build on what you've started during the session

The session is facilitated by NASS Senior Self-Management Programme Officer, Zoe Clark, who is a healthcare professional living with axial SpA (AS). Zoe will be joined by:

  • Allison Dean, Clinical Specialist Team Leader
  • Lisa Bembridge, Senior Physiotherapist
  • Richard Thomas, Senior Physiotherapist
  • Sian Keane, Physiotherapist
  • Helen Nutland, Physio Assistant Practitioner

The topics covered will include:

  • Managing pain and flares
  • Fatigue and pacing
  • Emotional wellbeing

The session is run via zoom and will include group discussions, teaching sessions and some gentle exercise sessions. We would also like to hear your thoughts on how your healthcare team can support you and if there are any changes to the hospital services that would be helpful.

Although we encourage attendees to use their video and microphone in the group discussions, you can join in with as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

If you have any questions or accessibility needs, please contact zoe@nass.co.uk

Look forward to seeing you there!
